Archived! Meyer Lemon Recipes, Holiday Baking & More

Baking, baking, and more baking. What can I say? I really like to bake.

Recently added to the archives? Shocker! Several baked goods!

Two meyer lemon recipes, delicious from-scratch meyer lemon cake bars, and also delicious but very much NOT from scratch (ahem, Pillsbury) cheater meyer lemon rolls.

Some coconut banana bread that takes me back to Hawaii, some christmas muffins with a huge list of ingredients and they’re just perfect that way, frosty gingerbread trees with lemon icing that sparkle on the cookie plate, and holycrapohmygoshcrazygood deep, dark hot fudge pudding cake.

Just looking at these makes me want to head to the gym, stat.

(So worth it.)

The first evidence of baking occurred when humans took wild grass grains, soaked them in water, and mixed everything together, mashing it into a kind of broth-like paste. The paste was cooked by pouring it onto a flat, hot rock, resulting in a bread-like substance. Later, this paste was roasted on hot embers, which made bread-making easier, as it could now be made any time fire was created. The Ancient Egyptians baked bread using yeast, which they had previously been using to brew beer.”^..,
