This Week’s Bits & Bites

The sun came out this week! For one day. Okay okay, for part of one day, actually.

The kiddo and I embraced the moment, dragging blankets and pillows out into the yard, laying on our backs, and identifying cloud shapes. She saw a Christmas tree on a rock; I spotted an upside-down dog. We both saw the giant fire-breathing dragon pictured above – it couldn’t possibly be anything else, right?

We’re almost done with the master bedroom face lift and I’m love-love-loving it so far. About time we tackled the thing.

And yeah, I’m still obsessing over hygge. In fact, I’m feeling all meta this week as I cozy up in my blanket with a candle lit and a cup of tea and read my book about hygge. Is that meta, actually? I feel like I haven’t quite grasped what that word means, being older than the millennial generation and all. But I don’t care too much, because I’m all cozy and stuff.

Speaking of cozy, what do you think of this shepherd’s pie from Wholefully? I admit, I tried to create a sweet potato and lentil Shepherd’s pie awhile back and quite honestly, I did a horrible job. Now I’ll just try this one!

And how about this Cashew Thai Peanut Salad from Jessica in the Kitchen? Can’t wait to try it.

This Lentil Baked Ziti from Cookie + Kate looks like a keeper.

Vegan Chocolate Stout Cupcakes from Namely Marly. Yesss.

And lastly, thanks to this, I finally understand why it’s Paddy, not Patty. Speaking of, Happy St. Paddy’s Day!

And I’m off. Short one this week – the kiddo wants to play tic-tac-toe, and who am I to say no? xo
