I had some things to share with you today, but I just can’t do it. Talking about anything other than yesterday’s heartbreaking, unthinkable tragedy feels wrong. And even then … right now I’m feeling like there’s really not much to say.

I’m sure you’re grappling and grieving just as much as I am. Something about this last school shooting has made me snap … and mourn … like none previous. And what a sad thing to have to even see myself say: “this last school shooting;” “like none previous.”

I will say this: I don’t think this is the time to put politics aside. Right now is when we’re feeling it. We’ve been forced out of blissful ignorance mode; this is when we’re driven to insist upon a change. And I think we can all agree that something needs to change. We can mourn those kids. We can send love and light to those families. And we can honor the victims of Sandy Hook by taking action … whatever that looks like to each one of us.

Meanwhile, sleep in heavenly peace, little ones.

Sleep in heavenly peace.
