I am not one of those people that hates leftovers. In fact, I think they’re sort of awesome. Maybe it’s my inner frugalista … or my inner lazykins. I mean, basically, a free meal – and virtually no work to make it happen? What’s not to love?!
I’m also a fan of taking a leftover ingredient and re-purposing it in a whole new way. And because I tend to go a little crazy on the Crock Pot Spiced Cider around holiday time, we often have a little left over at the end of the night. So I thought, hey! What if I made this into ice cubes?! And then turned those into something all fizzy and stuff?
Spiced Apple Sparklers, baby, that’s what.
I think these are perfect, perfect, perfect for New Year’s Eve. Fizzy, sparkly, and even a festive bronz-y hue. Plus, they’re non-alcoholic – so kids, designated drivers, and general non-partakers get their very own special drink to toast with come midnight.
This drink takes three ingredients, pretty much: spiced cider ice cubes, sparkling apple cider, and club soda. It’s really, really, reallllly complicated to make.
Not.
Leftovers made fancy. Gotta love it.
If you don’t happen to have leftover spiced cider laying around, Trader Joe’s sells already-spiced cider by the bottle. Handy!
