With fresh, sweet blueberries and vibrant lemon, this Blueberry Lemonade is super pretty and absolutely refreshing. We love this blueberry lemonade recipe so much!
It’s blueberry season! Hooray! This is the time of year when we head down to the wonderful Mountainview Blueberry Farm to pick a big bucket full of beautiful berries. And then we get home, we realize that we got a ton of blueberries (the act of picking them is strangely addicting), and wonder what in the world to do with them all.
This year, so far I’ve made a huuuge batch of blueberry lime jam. Then I froze a bunch for later on. We’ve enjoyed blueberry pancakes, of course, and I’m thinking about a batch of blueberry muffins. Maybe with cornmeal. Today I’m going to look into making and freezing some blueberry baby food, and yesterday, I made this wonderful drink: fresh blueberry lemonade.
Honestly, I think this blueberry lemonade is more like a dessert than a beverage. It’s bursting with gobs of fresh, sweet blueberry flavor – all those pureed blueberries swimming with tart lemon and sugar make for a very special summer drink. Drink/dessert.
Blueberry Lemonade
Ingredients
- 3/4 cup fresh lemon juice
- 3/4 cup sugar (can substitute honey – start with 1/2 cup and then add more if desired)
- 1 cup fresh blueberries
- 1 cup hot water
- 3 cups cold water
- Ice
Instructions
- In a blender, blend together the lemon juice, sugar, blueberries, and hot water until the berries are pureed and the sugar is dissolved. Pour into pitcher. Pour over a fine-mesh strainer if you prefer a pulp-free lemonade.
- Add cold water.
- Chill for at least an hour.
- Serve over ice.
Wow!! Blueberry Lemonade is what I order each time I visit my favorite little corner restaurant in the city. I can’t get enough of it! I’ve never made it at home though. Looks divine!
This looks so crisp & refreshing!. Totally trying it sans the sugar & subbing agave.
I could just inhale this! Looks fabulous!

We just had this tonight and it was wonderful! I doubled the recipe for our family of six, and threw in about 4 cups of spinach. Amazing!
I’ve made this twice now, and I love it! I had to use frozen berries, but I can’t WAIT to try it with fresh-picked berries. YUM! Thank you!
Oh. My. Goodness. is all I have to say about this. This blueberry lemonade was sooooooo delicious! I can’t wait to make it into smoothies and ice pops!!!
I’m so glad you liked it! I LOVE the idea of making these into popsicles especially. I’m going to need to try that soon!
Delicious! Just made 2 batches. I used agave nectar instead of sugar and it tastes great. Also, FYI – 3 lemons is about 3/4 cup. I pressed/rolled them on my counter for 10 seconds before using a manual juicer and this was super easy. Stored each batch in a half gallon mason jar and they look pretty too.

I had some today and it is honestly better than plain lemonade. Thanks for sharing this.
Delicious 😋 I substituted fresh blackberries for the blueberries and used a scant 1/2 cup of sugar and it is out of this world good! I need to try it w Alsace as another reviewer mentioned.
Thank you for sharing! I will be using this recipe with all types of berries for a long time!
I made this tonight I thought it was lovely added about 3 more cups of water and the taste didn’t dilute very much. I wanted to have a full gallon of this so next time I’ll tweak the ingredients to get that result. I plan to take some to work with me in a mason jar. I would also like to try this with truvia . Thank you for the recipe.
Love this recipe. I find 1/2 cup of sugar works great. Just enough sweet with the tart lemons 😋 Have made it with Both strawberries and also blackberries (strained) and my whole family LOVES it.
Ooh blackberry lemonade – that sounds delicious! Thank you so much for coming back and leaving a comment and review!
