About the blogger

headshot2Kare is a vegetarian and home cook who lives in Seattle with two staunch carnivores – a meat-and-potatoes husband and a picky preschooler who tells everyone who will listen about her favorite food, bacon. Kare’s kitchen challenges are as real as everyone else’s – lack of time, those stubborn pounds, the need for healthy yet family-friendly fare, and, of course, meals that create a bridge across dietary divides.

A corporate web writer for many years, Kare started blogging back in 2009 at lifestyle site The Hazel Bloom. Shortly after having her daughter, Kare zeroed in on the idea of keeping mixed-diet families happy – and Kitchen Treaty was born. Since then, she has been a full-time food blogger and a full-time mom as well. And she wouldn’t have it any other way!

With her corporate background, she brings with her the perspective of knowing what it’s like on the other “side” of things – and she loves to work with companies because of that!

Companies I’ve worked with

I only work with companies whose products I love and believe in! That’s because I strongly believe that being true to myself is crucial to supporting a high level of trust with my readers. And it also greatly helps maintain a level of authenticity – which is beneficial to both blog and brand.
